GUILD Gem Laboratory (GUILD Certification) is the world’s leading authority in gem identification that works to ensure the authenticity, natural properties and quality of gemstones in the jewelry supply chain.

What is the difference between white and yellow gold?

Our Fine Jewelry pieces come in yellow and white gold. Yellow gold’s color comes from nature, while white gold is the result of mixing yellow gold with other metals and a rhodium coating, which gives it its elegant white tone and brightens the piece.

Can the color of the natural gemstones vary?

The natural gemstones are genuinely cut and polished to suit each design, ensuring quality, beauty, and uniqueness in every piece. Gemstones may vary in tone due to their natural origin. These color variations are proof of its provenance, allowing for the differentiation between a natural gem and an artificial one. Each mineral has its own inorganic chemical composition, and its components are the final result of geological processes that have occurred on our planet. For Lapis Arc this is the beauty and unicity of using gemstones for our designs. These color variations will not be considered as defects or flaws.

Product Care

How do I take care of my jewelry?

In order to preserve your jewelry’s beauty, shine, and durability, please follow these simple care steps: Avoid exposure to any chemicals or harsh products, including perfume, cosmetics, and cleaning agents. Remove your jewelry before bathing or swimming to avoid contact with chlorine, sand, and saltwater, which can damage the surface and luster. Take off your jewelry prior to exercise or any physical activity to protect it from unnecessary knocks, scratches, and sweat. Do not wear your jewelry while sleeping to prevent accidental damage, tangling, or wear.Store your jewelry in a clean, dry, and cool place. Avoid extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, and humid environments to maintain its quality.

When should I remove my jewelry?

Your jewelry is delicate and deserves gentle care. For rings, remove them gently from the sides—never pull or twist from the top stone, as this may damage the setting. We recommend removing all jewelry before swimming: the chemicals used to treat pool water can harm the surface and luster of your pieces, and cooler water temperatures may cause your fingers to shrink, increasing the risk of precious rings slipping off. It is also best to take off your jewelry before showering, as soaps, shampoos, and other bath products can dull the lustrous surface of your jewels over time. If you prefer to keep your jewelry on during these activities, regular routine maintenance is essential to preserve its beauty. When you remove your jewelry for bed, swimming, showering, or any other activity that could compromise its integrity, store each piece individually. This prevents tangling, scratching, and unnecessary wear between pieces. Please note that while solid gold is durable, minor scratches are a natural result of regular wear and add to the unique character of your jewelry.

How shall I store my jewelry?

There are numerous ways to store your jewelry, but it’s crucial to remember that not all methods are safe. Never store your jewelry in rubber containers, as these can accelerate tarnishing and cause your jewelry to darken over time. Under no circumstances should you keep your jewelry in a bathroom or any humid location, as moisture and humidity are detrimental to its condition. Follow our recommended storage guidelines for optimal care: Separate your jewelry by metal type: This prevents metals from interacting with one another, which can lead to premature tarnishing. Clean your jewelry thoroughly before storing it: Leaving dirt, sweat, or residue on your jewelry for extended periods can cause tarnishing and damage. Choose a dry, dark storage spot: Humidity is jewelry’s greatest enemy, so avoid damp areas at all costs. Ensure your jewelry pieces do not touch each other: This prevents scratches and scuffs that can occur when pieces rub against one another.

Important note: Lapis Arc boxes are not designed for long-term storage of jewelry, as they are not airtight. Without an airtight seal, prolonged storage in these boxes may lead to color alteration, especially if the jewelry is not worn regularly.
